Now That There’s a Sanhedrin, Who Needs the Supreme Court?
One year after a new assembly of Torah scholars was established, the esteemed Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz has become its president.

When the “new Sanhedrin” was established in Tiberias a year ago, hardly anyone took it seriously. The 71 rabbis who came to the northern city 1,660 years after the original Sanhedrin (the assembly of 71 ordained scholars that was both supreme court and legislature in Talmudic times) held its last meeting there, were welcomed by many in the Orthodox and ultra-Orthodox sectors with smiles tinged with derision.
The declaration of the Sanhedrin’s reestablishment was perceived as both a curiosity on the margins of the right and as a rebellion against halakhic conventions; as a perhaps daring step, but one that was also a warning; far-reaching, but to a large extent provocative.
The fact that the leading Torah scholars of this generation, or those who are identified as such, took no part in this pretentious venture posed many questions about the new Sanhedrin’s source of power and authority.

The founding rabbis, most of them fairly anonymous, did agree in writing to vacate their places in favor of rabbis who are greater Torah scholars, as soon as some are found willing to serve.
Nevertheless, the initial impression was that this was another effort by the Jewish Leadership movement within the Likud, an effort that had a Torah-oriented, halakhic-messianic slant and was striving for a revolution in the government.
The man who headed the new venture was Hillel Weiss, a professor of literature and one of the leaders of Jewish Leadership, who nearly twenty years ago reinstated another ancient practice: the traditional hakhel gathering, which took place once every seven years at the end of the Sukkot festival, the year after an agricultural Sabbatical (shmitta) year, and was attended by the king of Israel.
The first hakhel gathering organized by Weiss at the Western Wall plaza in 1987 was attended by then-president Chaim Herzog, prime minister Yitzhak Shamir, Supreme Court president Meir Shamgar, chief rabbis Avraham Shapira and Mordechai Eliahu and many other dignitaries. It has been repeated twice since, once every seven years.
A year after its establishment, it is impossible to see the new Sanhedrin as the domain of the extreme right wing alone: at a large gathering in Jerusalem’s Har Nof neighborhood Tuesday, Rabbi Adin Even Israel Steinsaltz, a well-known Talmud scholar who is much esteemed in Torah circles, both in the ultra-Orthodox world and in the national-religious sector, came forward as the president of the Sanhedrin.
Steinsaltz avoided delving into politics and spoke about gradually building up the ancient institution, which would take several generations, he said. The very fact that he is leading the new Sanhedrin can be considered a dramatic event, given the numerous efforts in the last few years to strengthen the Jewish character of the state, integrate into it elements of Hebrew law and to combat the idea of a state for all its citizens. The fact that the new Sanhedrin also includes many rabbis affiliated with the ultra-Orthodox stream, added to the fact that they are not among the best known and leading rabbis in that sector, endows the effort with another unusual dimension that distances it from being another “extreme right-wing” venture.
In its first year, the new Sanhedrin initiated a dialogue with the Ministry of Education over the Bible and Scriptures curriculum; set up a “High Council for the Sons of Noah,” whose task it is to establish contact with non-Jewish communities seeking to observe the Noahide laws – the seven commandments given to the sons of Noah, or all mankind, which non-Jews are obligated to uphold according to halakha.

The Sanhedrin also discussed at length the physical location of the altar and Holy of Holies on the Temple Mount and dealt with the question of whether in our generation, Jews abroad must continue to observe the second festival day of the Diaspora, an additional day that is added to each of the three pilgrimage festivals – Sukkot, Passover and Shevuot.
The new Sanhedrin sharply attacked the disengagement plan and recently ruled that three minors who asked it for a ruling had acted properly when they refused to be tried in a court not based on Torah law.
“We hereby instruct you to continue your refusal, and the One who releases prisoners will release you from your confinement,” the rabbis wrote them. In another ruling, the Sanhedrin’s “Court for Matters of Nationhood and State” permitted a family from the evacuated community of Sa-Nur to accept compensation from the state for their evacuation, “even though this was an unjust law forced on the expellees.”
Ordination revived
According to halakha,(Law) in order to revive the Sanhedrin, “ordination” is required, i.e., the ordination of members by others who are greater and wiser Torah scholars, to serve on the Supreme Court as necessary.
The first ordination, you may recall, was that of Joshua Bin Nun, whom Moses ordained. Other famous ordinations over the course of the generations included the “five elders”: Rabbi Meir, Rabbi Yehuda, Rabbi Shimon, Rabbi Yossi and Rabbi Eliezer Ben Shamu’a, who were ordained by Yehuda Ben Baba, between the towns of Usha and Shfaram.
Ordination ended in Israel when the yeshivas closed and the Sanhedrin stopped functioning. The last people ordained no longer placed their hands on their students’ heads, because of the restrictions imposed by the Roman government.
Maimonides wrote that if all scholars in Israel agree to appoint scholars and ordain them, than these are ordained people and they may discuss matters of fines and punishment and may ordain others. However, even Maimonides did not see this as a fait accompli; he added that the matter needed to be “decided on.”
In the 16th century, nearly all the Torah scholars (TALMUD) in the land of Israel accepted the initiative of Rabbi Jacob Birav to resume ordination and reestablish the Sanhedrin. Rabbi Levy Ben Haviv, the rabbi of Jerusalem who was not informed of the plans, sabotaged the effort, and in the end Birav was forced to flee the country.
Upon the reestablishment of the state, the first minister of religion, Rabbi Yehuda Leib Hacohen Maimon, attempted to renew the Sanhedrin, but the opposition of the ultra-Orthodox sabotaged the effort.
It is therefore surprising that the first ordained person in modern times, who ostensibly authorized the convening of the new Sanhedrin, was an ultra-Orthodox figure – Rabbi Dov Levanoni of Jerusalem. (CHABAD HASIDIM) The members of the new Sanhedrin present a video in which Rabbi Levanoni relates how he received the first ordination to take place since the time of Rabbi Yaakov Birav, from one of the leaders of the Eidah Haredit’s Beit Din Zedek religious court, Rabbi Moshe Halberstam. Levanoni ordained two other rabbis, and they ordained four more.
Since each person can only ordain two people, it took almost a year to ordain the 120 men needed for the new Sanhedrin. Most of them were present at Tuesday’s gathering in Hai Taib Street synagogue in Har Nof, to mark a year since the renewal of the ancient institution.
The new Sanhedrin is recognized by a very small public,(2005) and this is its Achilles heel. Rabbi Re’em Hacohen, the head of the hesder yeshiva in Otniel, who delivered the opening address at the meeting – he is not a member of the new Sanhedrin – sketched clear halakhic parameters that indicate the problems involved. According to him, it is not possible to resume the ordination without the consent of the entire Jewish people.
“The Sanhedrin is the foundation for the presence of the Divine spirit .(Polytheistic Shekinah).. and until this body has representatives from the entire nation – and at the moment it does not have representatives of the entire nation, not even representatives of the religious, Torah observant segment of the nation, then it is problematic,” Hacohen said. Like other speakers at the conference, he too feels that “today there is a total division between the executive and judicial branches, and the nation and the rabbinical court system is also not free of this plague.” Nevertheless, he says, “The Sanhedrin cannot replace them until it draws its power from the entire nation.” (or…. The establishment of the new Sanhedrin reflects profound unhappiness with the way the Israeli legal system is run, there were harsh remarks to that effect at the conference. Rabbi Israel Rosen, the head of the Tsomet Institute of Halakha and Technology, which provides solutions to halakhic problems using technology, attacked the sections on religion and state, minorities and the status of the Supreme Court in the draft constitution proposed by the Israel Democracy Institute, for whom the “Supreme Court has become their Sanhedrin.”
“But the Sanhedrin in its existing format,” acknowledges Rosen, “is not serious. Even if in principle one accepts the need to revive the Sanhedrin, it should include authoritative halakhic scholars and Torah scholars of the first order. At the moment, it seems as if they have jumped too high.”
Ultra-Orthodox Rabbi Yoel Schwartz, spiritual advisor to the ultra-Orthodox Nahal brigade and a member of the new Sanhedrin, accepts the criticism and defines the institution as “infrastructure only.” Not everyone sees eye to eye with him. Hillel Weiss, who also has become one of the ordained members, says, “The goal of the new Sanhedrin is to become a source of authority for the Jewish people, and this is contrary to the accepted position of the left that the state of Israel is the source of this authority.
“I and many of my colleagues want to be part of this state, but not at the cost of our spiritual and physical destruction. This Sanhedrin draws together all the scars and injuries and anguish from the injustice and persecution that Jews endure here from the Supreme Court and whoever follows the Supreme Court and whoever pretends to maintain the rule of law here.”
Rabbi Ratzon Arussi, the rabbi of Kiryat Ono and a member of the Supreme Rabbinical Council, also feels persecuted. On Tuesday, Arussi sharply criticized the Knesset and the court. He spoke about the “clash that is gaining momentum between Torah law (Talmudic) and state law,” and despaired over “barren dialogues with the secular side that ostensibly create understandings, which have no practical value for various connections to our heritage.” The court, Arussi feels, “is today obligated only to the state, but not to its Jewish identity.”
Arussi suggested setting red lines for this identity and announcing that if the Knesset does not incorporate them into legislation, all the religious parties will resign. Rabbi Dov Lior, the head of the Committee of Judea and Samaria Rabbis, said things at the conference that were even more far-reaching: “A collective of evil people is not part of the quorum … every law against the Torah is invalid. There are forces of evil seeking to harm anything related to the sanctity of Israel, and the legal system is one area where the greatest desecration of God’s name is occurring.
It is hard to know how long Steinsaltz will last as president of the new Sanhedrin. At the public session held on the first anniversary of the apparent reestablishment of the ancient institution, he appeared to be fighting internal opposition. He pointed out to those present that worldwide events couldn’t happen in one fell swoop.
Jerusalem wasn’t built in a day
“Before the flood, Noah built the ark and prepared to enter it for 120 years,” he reminded the audience. “In order to move forward and no longer be defined as `an aborted fetus,’ to become serious so we can say, `a child was born to us,’ we need a lot of time. The mere mention of the name Sanhedrin is not a given. It is no longer a matter of a religious council, or a council for the cats on Emek Refaim Street. It’s something that has historical meaning. A basic change, not of one small system, but of fundamental systems.
“It’s no wonder that these things frighten people. There are people who are concerned about what is emerging here. And where is it headed? After we have made it through this year with no catastrophes occurring, even though there were some foolish comments and chuckling, we will intensify and strengthen our activities. We will do things with an eye toward future generations, not with a stopwatch and an annual calendar. The Jewish calendar is a calendar of thousands of years. A lot of patience and a lot of work are needed. I’d be happy if in another few years these chairs are filled by scholars who are greater than us and we can say: `I kept the chairs warm for you.'”
Steinsaltz used his position as president of the Sanhedrin to protest its involvement in politics. “I’m not afraid of the Supreme Court, the police or the attorney general. A rabbi is also permitted to engage in public issues, but to do so he has to have all the appropriate material before him, whether he is dealing with the kosher status of a chicken or the disengagement.
“When there is such a disengagement plan, and I don’t have enough information about it, just as there is a commandment to speak out, there is a commandment to remain silent. As a private person, I, just like every one of us, have understanding, but as a rabbi, dealing with political matters such as the disengagement is a mockery of the essence of the concept of a Sanhedrin.
“If I don’t want to be a laughing-stock, then I won’t express an opinion on every issue. These words of truth need to be said, so that this Sanhedrin does not become a branch of the Yesha Council (of Jewish Settlements in Judea, Samaria and Gaza) or of the Council for Peace and Security.”

The supreme court has long been seen by rightwingers as too liberal and not sufficiently representative of the religious right and settler movement in particular.
The moves announced by the court late on Wednesday mark the latest effort by the right and hard right to transformone that will impact court rulings and Israeli democracy for many years to come.” Israeli institutions regarded as too leftwing or elitist, from the arts to the police service.

“The appointment of four new justices to the supreme court is the most important achievement in the political and social revolution being pursued by Benjamin Netanyahu’s current government,” he wrote. “Justice minister Ayelet Shaked promised to fundamentally alter the character of the judicial branch in Israel, and yesterday she took a major step towards fulfilling that promise, one that would have an impact for years to come.
Shaked described the change as “historic”, making clear in interviews that she had pushed the candidacy of the three as much for ideological reasons as for their judicial experience.
“When we chose these judges, we knew what their judicial worldview was, and I’m not talking about right or left but about activism versus conservatism,” she told YediothAhronoth. “That was the goal, to promote conservative judges, and that goal was accomplished.”
Shaked made clear she had pushed the candidacy of the judges as part of a wider effort to push back judicial oversight of political decisions, including an outpost legalisation bill expected to come before the court.
“Certainly, reducing the supreme court’s interference with political decisions is something I’m promoting and will continue to promote,” she said. “Political decisions should be left to the government and the Knesset. They were the ones chosen by the people; they are the authority for it.”
The new judges include David Mintz, who lives in a West Bank settlement, Yael Vilner, who is Orthodox, and Yosef Elron, considered to be conservative and tough against migrants seeking Israeli residency.
Yedidya Stern, a law professor and vice-president of the Israel Democracy Institute, a research centre aimed at strengthening the foundations of Israeli democracy, said the four appointees were “good and efficient judges”.
But he said the big question was “whether the supreme court, with these people, will continue to be a bulwark” against anti-democratic elements in Israeli society. “In the absence of a written constitution, conservatism can be manifested in a weakening in the defence of human rights and minorities,” Stern said on Army Radio.

Recently I received a letter that read as follows:
“The whole purpose of studying the Bible is to look at God, His commandments to the Israelites, and His activity in history. My all time favorite text is John 4:22, ‘. . . for salvation is of the Jews.’ It seems to me that, since it is true, I need to understand what it means in order to know if I’m saved.
“I’m reading a book written by an ex-jihadist, who used to hate Israel and the West. Now, as a Christian, he loves Israel and the West. I take very seriously God’s promise to Abraham, ‘Those who bless you, I will bless.’ So, I go out of my way to bless the Jews that I work with. And I can truly say that the Lord has blessed me accordingly.”
The beliefs of this man as documented in his letter above, have become all too common among supposed “Christians” in America today. The major Evangelical leaders in America, including Tim and Beverly LeHaye, Hal Lindsey, Benny Hinn, Joyce Meyer, Pat Robertson, Charles Swindoll, Billy Graham, Chuck Missler, Paul and Jan Crouch, John Hagee, the late Jerry Falwell, and apparently Dr. James Dobson, are ALL dispensationalists. (If James Dobson is NOT a dispensationalist, please show me the evidence and I will reconsider.)
Dispensationalists believe that the Jews are God’s special Chosen People who do NOT need to believe in Jesus Christ in order to be saved, but instead will be saved purely by their race. They also support the slaughter of the Palestinians by the Jews so the land can be confiscated completely by Israel making way for the Jews to rebuild the Third Temple on the Temple mount in Jerusalem, facilitating, or so they incorrectly believe, the hastening of the Second Coming of Christ. They also endorse the destruction of all enemies of the Jews, including the Iraqis, the Iranians, the Lebanese, the Syrians, etc., because they have been deceived into believing that God will bless those who bless the Jews, no matter how murderous, wicked, and Anti-Christ is the behavior of Israel and the Jews.
The Evangelical churches lead the way in this false theology, promoting Israel and the Jews at every turn, even to the denial of Jesus Christ. But the fact is, it is impossible to be a true Christian while supporting the murderous acts of Israel and the Jewish leaders. Those who claim to be “Christian” while supporting Israeli and Jewish Anti-Christ policies have naively given their allegiance to Satan.
Where did these “beliefs” come from? How did they get started?
The acceptance of the Scofield Reference Bible by the Evangelical Christians with its many false doctrines was the dominant force in leading these churches astray.

“The Scofield Reference Bible is a widely circulated annotated study Bible edited and annotated by the American Bible student Cyrus I. Scofield. Published by Oxford University Press and containing the traditional King James Version text, it first appeared in 1909 and was revised by the author in 1917.
The Scofield Bible had several innovative features. Most important, it printed what amounted to a commentary around the text of the Bible itself instead of in a separate volume. It also contained a cross-referencing system that tied together related verses of Scripture and allowed a reader to follow biblical themes from one chapter and book to another. Finally, the 1917 edition also attempted to date events of the Bible. It was in the pages of the Scofield Reference Bible that many Christians first encountered Archbishop James Ussher‘s calculation of the date of Creation as 4004 BC; and through discussion of Scofield’s notes–which advocated the “gap theory“–fundamentalists began a serious internal debate about the nature and chronology of creation.
The Scofield Bible was published only a few years before World War I destroyed the cultural optimism that had viewed the world as entering a new era of peace and prosperity. Thus, Scofield’s premilliennialism itself seemed almost prophetic, and sales of his Reference Bible exceeded two million copies by the end of World War II.[1]
The Scofield Reference Bible promoted dispensationalism, the belief that between creation and the final judgment there were seven distinct eras of God’s dealing with man and that these eras were a framework for synthesizing the message of the Bible. It was largely through the influence of Scofield’s notes that dispensationalism grew in influence among fundamentalist Christians in the United States. Scofield’s notes on Revelation are a major source for the various timetables, judgments, and plagues elaborated by such popular religious writers as Hal Lindsey; and in part because of the success of the Scofield Reference Bible, twentieth-century American fundamentalists placed greater stress on eschatological speculation. Opponents of biblical fundamentalism have criticized the Scofield Bible for its air of total authority in biblical interpretation, for what they consider its glossing over of biblical contradictions, and for its focus on eschatology.”
There is significant evidence that Cyrus Scofield, a man of extremely dubious morality, was paid by Jewish sources to bring in this new theology promoting the idea that the present-day Jews are God’s “Chosen People” irrespective of what they do or how they behave, that the Jews have a right to rule the world, and that every “Gentile” should support the nation of Israel and the Jews of the world, no matter how wicked their personal behaviors or their international policies may be.
Dispensationalsim really means that since the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem in A.D. 70, the non-Jews (“Gentiles”) have been allowed by God to rule the world. But this is just an interruption, a blip on the screen – an intermediate “dispensation” – which is now ending, making way for the Jews to rule the world – all nations – forever.
The Evangelical Christians are in opposition to the coming total control of the New World Order. They believe it is evil. But they are in such darkness that they do not realize that the very group they are supporting with their finances and their false doctrines – the Israeli state and the Jews of the world – IS the force behind the New World Order, a force whose goal is the destruction of ALL governments and ALL religions.
There are two main Bible texts, one of which is badly mistranslated and the other severely misinterpreted, that have led to this false doctrine of Dispensationalism.
The first text:
Jesus said to the woman at the well, “You do not know what you worship: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.”
John 4:22This is the inaccurate translation of the King James Version and most other Bible translations, as well.
Here is the question: Is salvation through Jesus Christ, or is salvation “of the Jews”?
The second text:
And the Lord said to Abram . . . “I will make of thee a great nation . . . and I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” Genesis 12:2,3
The question in this instance is: According to the Word of God, the God who made this promise, who are the offspring of Abram (Abraham)?
We will discuss John 4:22 first.
Is Salvation of the Jews?
Is “Salvation of the Jews” as the King James Bible translates John 4:22? The prepositions in the Greek are far more specific. The Greek word used here is “Ek” (#1537) which means “origin.” The correct translation of this word is “OUT OF” not “of.”
Look at the following texts. Every other place the word “Ek” is used, it is always translated “OUT OF” not “of.”
“And thus Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, art not the least among the princes of Judah; for OUT OF (“Ek” #1537) thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.” Matthew 2:6
“And thou, Bethlehem, house of Ephratha, art few in number to be reckoned among the thousands of Judah; yet OUT OF (“Ek” #1537) thee shall One come forth to me, to be a ruler of Israel; and His goings forth were from the beginning, even from eternity.” (From the Greek O.T.) Micah 5:2
“For it is manifest that OUT OF (“Ek” #1537) Judah has sprung our Lord…” Hebrews 7:14
It is clear that the word “Ek” in the Greek should be translated as “OUT OF.”
Now let’s look at the last word of the text – the word “Jews.”
The word “JEW” NEVER appears in the Original Scriptures
The word “Jew.”
Look in a Concordance, Strong’s Concordance is a popular, commonly used one. The word “Jew” (#2453 in the Greek) is actually short for the word Judean, or more accurately Ioudas, pronounced ee-oo-dah-yos. The letter “J” is not present in the New Testament Greek alphabet. The English alphabet had no “J” prior to the 14th century, and it wasn’t predominantly used until the 17th century.
Since the word “Jew” is an English concoction that did not exist at the time of the writing of the New Testament, we know that it actually is the word “Judean” or “Judahite.” The King James Bible in 1611, for example, used the word Iudea, not our present “Judea”, and it was pronounced you-dee-a. So the word “Jew” is short for the word “Judean” or “Judahite,” meaning either a resident of a particular area – Judea, the southern part of Canaan, later known as Palestine or a worshiper of the God whose presence was in the temple in Jerusalem in Judea. The word “Jew” or more properly “Judean” had nothing to do with ethnicity.
The English word Jew evolved phonetically from the prefix ‘Iou, from the Greek word ‘Ioudas which means Judean. Judea is the same as Judah, and Judah was the tribe of Israel that inhabited that geographical area when the twelve tribes conquered the inhabitants of Canaan about 1400 B.C. The Tribe of Judah was the largest of the twelve and the most influential. God said that the Messiah would come through that Tribe.
The Bible speaks of ONLY two main groups: Believers and UnbelieversGod is not interested in ethnicity, gender, or whether a person is a slave or free. He is “no respecter of persons.” He has no caste system. He is only interested in whether we have learned to trust Him or not. Are we a Believer in the One True God, or are we an Unbeliever?
All other subgroups in the Bible are a member of one or the other of these two main groups: Believers or Unbelievers. The apostle Paul makes this very clear In Romans 15:8,9 and in Galatians 2:9.
Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister (servant) of the circumcision (the Believers – those who Believed in God) for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers (the ancestors of the Believers – such as Abraham).
And that the heathen (“Gentiles” – nations – Unbelievers) might glorify God for His mercy; as it is written, “For this cause I will confess to Thee among the heathen (“Gentiles” – Unbelievers), and sing unto Thy name. Romans 15:8,9
“And when James, Peter and John, who seemed to be pillars (of the ecclesia – the Believers), perceived the grace that was given unto me (Paul), they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen (Unbelievers), and they unto the circumcision ( Believers in God – even though many constantly strayed from God). Galatians 2:9
The word “Jew.”
The word “Judean” in the Bible (later incorrectly shortened to “Jew”) originally meant – those who had knowledge of the God of heaven – the Believers. The study of the Scriptures, particularly the Old Testament, makes it clear that the designation “Judean” or Ioudas refers to those who had a knowledge of the God of heaven – those who were Believers in God, as opposed to those who had NO knowledge of the God of heaven or those who worshiped pagan gods, referred to as the “Nations” – the Unbelievers.
The word “Gentiles.”
In Strong’s Concordance, the word “Nations” in the Greek #1484 and in the Hebrew, #1471. Now look up the word “Gentiles.” You will see that the number is identical to the word “Nations” both in the Greek (#1484) and in the Hebrew (#1471). The word “heathen” has the same numbers. This shows that the Bible translators used the word “Gentiles” at their own arbitrary discretion, when it would have a theological or sociological impact they desired, rather than using the word “Nations” in every instance, as unbiased translation would dictate.
There is NO instance in the Bible, where the word “Gentiles” is appropriate. The word should ALWAYS be Nations or heathen – referring to Unbelievers.
These words “Jew” and “Gentile” are both mistranslations and have nothing to do with ethnicity. They only have to do with the spiritual beliefs of the two groups. Either they worshipped the God of heaven (Believers) OR they worshipped many pagan gods (Unbelievers).
Over thousands of years and many translations, there began the intrusion of a false theology that these terms referred to ethnicity rather than spiritual beliefs. Jacob’s name was SPIRITUALLY changed by God to the SPIRITUAL name of “Israel” when he finally gave up his evil ways of deceit and trickery because he had finally learned his lessons. Jacob’s heart was changed but Jacob’s genes did not change. The name “Israel” described his new spiritual character. It had nothing to do with ethnicity – with Jacob OR with his subsequent progeny.
The Hebrew word (#1471) translated “Nations” or incorrectly as “Gentiles”, is the word “goy” or “goyim”, a present-day derogatory term used by Jews to describe non-Jews, and means a troop of lowly animals, such as cattle, or a heathen people.
Isaiah 37:12 “Have the gods of the nations delivered them…”
Psalm 96:5 “For all the gods of the nations are idols…”
Isaiah 9:1 “…Galilee of the nations.”
Again, the Scriptural meanings of the two terms are the following:
Judeans (mistranslated “Jews” in the Bible): Those who were aware of, or who worshiped, the God of heaven – Believers – even though often they had wandered far from the God of heaven they were supposed to know.
Nations or heathen (often mistranslated “Gentiles” in the Bible): Those who did NOT know, nor worship, the God of heaven, but instead worshiped pagan idols.
Neither term was a designation of ethnicity or blood line. Both terms were defined in relation to their religion – their worship, which, in general, correlated with their geographical location. The center of the worship of the God of heaven in the entire inhabited world, was Jerusalem which was in the region of Judea. Everywhere else was referred to as “the Nations.”

The CORRECT Translation of John 4:22:
Because Jesus was born in Judea and because He identifies Himself as the “Saviour of ALL mankind” (1 Tim 4:10), the phrase should be translated, “Salvation is OUT OF Judea.” (John 4:22) Salvation is found ONLY in Jesus, Who was born (came OUT OF) Judea!
Salvation is ALL ABOUT JESUS – NOT about Israel or the “Jews!”
Who are the “seed” and heirs of Abraham?
Galatians, Chapter 3, tells us clearly that the “seed (offspring) of Abraham” is Christ – and also HIS followers.
6 Even as Abraham believed (had faith in) God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness
7 Know ye therefore that they that are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen (nations) through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying In thee shall all nations be blessed
9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham
10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is everyone that continues not in all things that are written in the book of the law to do them.

The “seed” of Abraham is CHRIST and His followers – the true Christians – the true “Israel” – NOT the Jews!
Present-day “Jews” – IF they accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and quit hanging on to the false idea that the “Jews” are God’s “Chosen People” can also become the “seed” of Abraham.
God will bless those who bless the followers of Christ (the true Christians), and curse those who curse the followers of Christ!
Is Judaism the Religion of the Old Testament?
No! Judaism is NOT the religion of the Old Testament. The religion of the Israelites in the Old Testament was/is Christianity! Jesus, Himself, said so.
“You search the Scriptures; for in them you think you have eternal (eonian) life; but they are they which testify of Me. John 5:39
The only Scriptures that were available when Jesus was on earth were the Old Testament Scriptures, which is what Jesus was clearly referring to. Jesus was stating that the Old Testament Scriptures were about Christ – NOT about Israel.
There are literally dozens of prophecies in the Old Testament pointing towards the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. These prophecies were given to the Israelites by God so the Israelites would recognize Jesus when He came to earth. But the perversion, degeneracy and arrogance of the Pharisees and Sadducees – the leaders of the Organized Church of the day – had so corrupted the truth of the Christianity of the Israelites, that when Jesus appeared they not only rejected Him as the Messiah but they accused Him of “having a devil” (John 8:48) and murdered Him!
The Old Testament is about Christ – NOT about Israel! Therefore, the religion of the Old Testament is/was – – – Christianity!
The rejection of truth by the leaders of the Israelites had thrown them into such profound darkness that they could no longer even discern truth. Instead, they rejected truth and “believed a lie” and murdered God/Jesus Christ.
“Because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
And for this cause God shall send them a strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 2 Thessalonians 2:10,11
And the Pharisees, Sadducees and their followers in the Organized Church of the day, committed a cosmic crime by murdering God! Jesus Christ is/was God – in human form.

Didn’t Christianity arise from Judaism?

Christianity pre-dated Judaism by 4,000 years.
Christianity began with the promise made to Eve after she and Adam sinned. God gave them the promise of redemption through a Savior. God said to the serpent, Satan, who had tempted Eve:
“And I will put enmity (hostility) between you (Satan) and the woman (Eve), and between your seed (your offspring ) and her seed (Eve’s offspring) and He (Christ – and true Christians) shall bruise (#1779 in Strong’s Concordance: overwhelm – break) your (Satan’s) head, and you shall bruise (overwhelm – break) His (Christ’s) heel.” Genesis 3:15

Who does the Bible say are the seed (offspring) of the Devil?
The Pharisees and their followers – the Jews.
Here are the words of Jesus Himself to the Jews and their “spiritual” leaders, the Pharisees, the Sadducees and the scribes:
You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. John 8:44
Who is the seed (offspring) of Eve?
Answer: Christ and His true followers, the true Christians.
Eve gave birth to her third son, Seth, who was the ancestor of Noah, who was the ancestor of Abraham, who was the ancestor of David, who was the ancestor of Christ. (Genesis, Chapter 5 and Matthew, Chapter 1)
The “seed” of Eve was Christ and His followers, the true Christians.
Satan’s offspring, the Jews and their Pharisaic leaders “bruised” (hurt) Christ’s “heel” (a small injury when compared to what would happen to Satan and his followers) when they crucified Him. But by Christ’s death and resurrection, He saved the WHOLE world. Thus, by conquering death and the grave and accomplishing the salvation of ALL mankind, Christ destroyed the works of the Devil and therefore Christ “bruised (overwhelmed – hurt) serpent’s “head” with a FATAL blow!
THIS was the promise of the Messiah – Jesus Christ – who came to save the WHOLE world from sin! This was the beginning of Christianity!
Christianity began with Adam and Eve!
Then WHERE did Judaism come from and WHEN did it begin?
The true Christianity of the Israelites was slowly subverted by an underground current of the spiritual ancestors of the Pharisees. This covert corruption began with the worship of the golden calf in the wilderness, then continued with the worship of the pagan god Baal, and then grew to include child sacrifice through the fire to the pagan god Molech.
The growth of this undercurrent of evil among the Israelites can be documented throughout the entire Old Testament. Moses chastised the Israelites when they turned their back on God. Joshua also warned them. During Samuel’s time, the Israelites demanded a king to rule them “as the other nations” had rather than allowing God to be their King. The prophets Isaiah and Jeremiah were later sent to warn the Israelites of their apostasy.
God showed Ezekiel the abominations secretly going on in Israel. (Ezekiel 8:5-17)
Then said He (God) unto me (Ezekiel), Son of man, lift up your eyes, and look toward the north. So I lifted up my eyes toward the north, and behold northward at the gate of the altar is the image of jealousy in the entrance.
He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, do you see what they do? Even the great abominations that the house of Israel commits here, that I should go far off from My sanctuary? But turn again, and you shall see greater abominations.
And He brought me to the door of the court (of the temple): and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall.

Here Ezekiel documents this evil undercurrent that was corrupting the true Christianity of the Israelites. The leaders of the Temple were worshiping idols, beasts and creeping things, the Sumerian fertility god, Tammuz, and they were worshiping the pagan sun god in secret!
When God raised up prophets to rebuke Israel for their waywardness, the prophets were ignored, imprisoned or stoned to death. Eventually, the Israelites were taken captive by Babylon because of their apostasy.
Finally, Jesus, the Messiah, came but this wicked undercurrent had taken hold in such a strong way that the Pharisees and the Sadducees had become so arrogant and self-righteous that they accused Jesus of being a demon-controlled imposter. Jesus rebuked the leaders for bringing false doctrines into the beliefs of the Christian Israelites by promoting traditions that “made the commandments of God of none effect.”

And He (Jesus) said unto them (the Pharisees), Full well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your own tradition. Mark 7:9
When Jesus was on earth, He attacked the Pharisees as:
hypocrites,
blind guides,
children of hell,
fools,
without mercy or faith,
full of extortion and self indulgence,
full of uncleanness,
serpents,
brood of vipers,
murderers, crucifiers and scourgers of prophets and wise men, ANDaccused them of being responsible for “ALL the righteous blood shed upon the earth since Abel.” (Matthew, Chapter 24)
It was then that the Pharisees, Sadducees and scribes – the leaders of the Organized Church of the day – decided to murder Christ by crucifixion.
Once they had rejected and killed the Messiah, Jesus Christ, they fell into even deeper darkness. In A.D. 70, Jerusalem and the temple in it were destroyed. Many of the Pharisees ended up in Babylon where these abominable oral “traditions of the elders” were committed to writing and became known as the Babylonian Talmud, the “holiest” book of Judaism. This evil undercurrent that had been smoldering for hundreds of years had now taken over completely, and a new occult religion was born – the religion of Judaism.
THESE were the originators of Judaism – the religion of Anti-Christ!
Then what does the term “Judeo-Christian” mean?
The term “Judeo-Christian” is an oxymoron, the combining of two words defining two diametrically opposing systems of belief. It’s similar to using the term “blackish-white” or cloning a human being combined with a beast. The authors of Judaism were the Pharisees – the murderers of Christ!
The values of Judaism are violently opposed to the values of Christianity as will be shown by quotes from their “holiest” book, the Talmud, including the Talmudic quotes that calls for theft from, lying to, and murdering of Christians – by the Jews.
The term “Judeo-Christian” is a farce, total nonsense, and an abominable lie. It has been foisted on, and embraced by, almost all who refer to themselves as “Christians.” But how can they call themselves Christians when they are essentially worshiping the followers of Judaism who ridicule, curse and denounce Jesus Christ?
What is the Talmud?
The Talmud is a series of many books that are the “holiest” books in Judaism. They are separated into two main categories: the Mishnah and the Gemara.
The Mishnah identifies itself within its text as “extra-biblical” law. If it is “extra-biblical,” then it is clearly NON-biblical.
The Gemara is a commentary on the Mishnah.
(Another prominent book in Judaism is the Kabbalah. It is original source of all sorceries and witchcraft.)
A vast collection of thousands of Jewish laws and traditions that dictate the behavior – down to the most trivial detail of an orthodox Jew’s life, the Talmud, is Judaism’s holiest book(s).
The Talmud – NOT the Old Testament is the governing religious book of Judaism. Evidence of this is found in the Talmud itself.
Erubin 21b (Soncino edition): “My son, be more careful in the observance of the words of the Scribes (the Talmud) than in the words of the Torah (Old Testament).”
The Talmud nullifies the Bible by permitting and encouraging virtually everything the Bible defines as Sin! While on earth, Jesus made a direct reference to the Talmud when he denounced the Pharisees, the leaders of the synagogue, for voiding the Scripture by teaching the traditions of men. (Mark 7:1-13)
Non-Jews – derogatorily referred to as goyim, minim, heathen, or gentiles, by the Jews – are considered to be no better than cattle, according to the Talmud, so their possessions, their land, and even their lives can be taken at will, by the Jews.
The teachings of the Jewish Babylonian Talmud are arguably the most bigoted, despicable, and hate-filled teachings known to man. Keep in mind that they have a “sanitized” version of the Talmud available to deceive non-Jews. The deceit then becomes layered – deceit on top of deceit!
Who was the FIRST Jew? There was none!
There is NO such thing as an ethnic Jew.
If there is a Jewish race, with “Jewish genes”, then WHO was the first “Jew”?
Abraham is often called the “father of the Jewish race,” but Abraham was NOT a Jew! He was a Chaldean, from Ur of the Chaldees in the area of Babylon. So was Abraham’s wife, Sarah. Abraham was a “Hebrew” which is NOT synonymous with the word “Jew.” The word “Hebrew” means “to pass or to cross over.” Abraham “crossed over” the River Euphrates to get to the land of Canaan, but in doing so, his genes DID NOT change into “Jewish genes.”
Abraham was NOT Jewish! There was NO SUCH THING as a Jewish race – then – OR now! Abraham was a Chaldean, from the area of Babylon,s who was a worshiper of God and a Christian looking forward to the promised Messiah – Jesus Christ!
Abraham had two sons, Ishmael and Isaac but neither one had “Jewish genes” because neither Abraham nor the mothers (Sarah and Hagar) of the two sons were “Jewish.” Isaac’s sons were Jacob and Esau – and NEITHER one was “Jewish.” If they were, then when did their “genes” suddenly become Jewish? Jacob and Esau were TWINS. Esau became the father of the Edomites and they were definitely NOT Jewish! How could ONE twin (Jacob) be Jewish and the OTHER twin (Esau) be an Edomite (a NON-Jew)?
Jacob and his sons went down into Egypt, then came out in the Exodus to the wilderness and on to Canaan, 40 years later. But their genes did not become Jewish genes along the way. In fact, the group that came out of Egypt, the Israelites, the Bible refers to as a MIXED MULTITUDE, meaning that there were others in the group BESIDES the offspring of Jacob.
Then when the Israelites reached the Land of Canaan they intermarried with the heathen Canaanites, against God’s explicit command, Obviously, THAT did not suddenly make them “Jewish.” SO – – – who was the FIRST Jew? And HOW did ANYONE ever become “Jewish” genetically?
CONCLUSION: There is NO SUCH THING as a Jewish race or ethnicity! There is only a Jewish culture, the culture of the Talmud – and a Jewish religion, Judaism, which is the occult religion of the Talmud and the Kabbalah!
Was Jesus a Jew? No!
Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, so He was a Judean by birth location (NOT a “Jew” by genetics) and He was from the tribe of Judah, but he lived his life in Nazareth, in “Galilee of the Nations (Gentiles)” so He was a Nazarene. Isa 9:1
Jesus was a child of the Holy Spirit (God’s Spirit – or breath – of holiness) (Luke 1:34,35). He had no lineage from His stepfather, Joseph. Yes, His earthly parents, both His earthly mother and His earthly father, were from the line of David. David was an Israelite, He lived in Israel in the area of Judah, but did that make him “Jewish” genetically?
The prophecy of Jesus’ lineage through His earthly parents was given so those who were searching the Scriptures and watching for the Messiah would be able to identify Him appropriately when He came. Even then, the greatest scholars and the wisest in the synagogues STILL did NOT recognize the Messiah.
Many claim that Jesus had to have had genes from His mother, Mary, or He would not have been able to fulfill the prediction of the Scriptures – – to be “tempted in all points like as we are, yet without sin.” (Heb 4:15) Yet Adam and Eve were created by God, with no genes from an earthly mother or father, and they were not only “susceptible” to sin – – – they ACTUALLY sinned! So Jesus did NOT have to have earthly genes in order to be susceptible to sin. But when He was tempted, He overcame! Jesus overcame where Adam failed.
There is an additional compelling reason why Jesus had NO earthly genes from either of His earthly parents, including NO genes from His earthly mother, Mary. He could NOT have had ANY of Mary’s human genes, because if He had, it would have been a case of the creature (a human being – Mary) CREATING the CREATOR (God in the human form of Jesus), it would be a case of humanity CREATING God! That could NOT be!
Jesus had NO genes from a human parent. He was “born of the Holy Spirit.” Matt 1:18 Jesus was placed in Mary’s womb to grow in her body, to symbolize Jesus coming from “outside” of us, from “outside” of this world to come into us and become One with us. To put His disposition, His character into us. Jesus came into this world to become One with humanity, to live in us.

Paul said, “I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, but not I, but Christ lives in me.” Gal 2:20
This is eonian life – mistranslated “eternal life” – the life of Christ in us.
At the time of Christ, there were only two groups: 1) Israelites (Christians – looking forward to the Messiah – Jesus Christ) who lived in the area of Judea and/or worshiped the God of Israel, whose temple was in Jerusalem in Judea, and 2) the nations (the pagans or heathen) who worshiped multiple pagan gods.
The distinction of the two groups was made on the basis of geographic location and/or religion – NOT on ethnicity.
Jesus was NOT a “Jew.” Jesus was God in human form. And God is NOT “Jewish”!
Jewishness is a Culture and/or a religion – NOT an ethnicity.
The Jewish culture is the culture of the Talmud. The Jewish religion is the religion of the Talmud. It is unfortunate that the Christian churches and their members are so woefully ignorant of 1) the teachings of Judaism, and 2) the culture of the Jews.

In Judaism, Jewish Rabbis are “God”
Hagigah 27a Declares that no rabbi can ever go to hell.
Erubin 21b Whosoever disobeys the rabbis deserves death and will be punished by being boiled in hot excrement in hell.
Baba Mezia 59b. A sly rabbi debates God and through trickery defeats Him. God admits the rabbi won the debate.
Bava Metzia 86a. Rabbi Nahmani is called to heaven to settle a debate between God, and ‘the rest of the fellowship’ and to teach God who is clean and who is not, since the rabbi is the foremost expert (greater than God) on plagues and contamination: “For said Rabbah b. Nahmani, ‘I am absolutely unique in my knowledge of the marks of skin disease that is unclean and in the rules of uncleanness. . .”
Berakhot 6a-b. God wears phylacteries on which are inscribed praise for the Jewish people.
Berakhot 7A God asks a rabbi for the rabbi’s blessing.
The Talmud is God

Rabbi Jacob Neusner states: “On the surface, Scripture plays little role in the Mishnaic system. The Mishnah (part of the Talmud) rarely cites a verse of Scripture, refers to Scripture as an entity, links its own ideas to those of Scripture, or lays claim to originate in what Scripture has said, even by indirect or remote allusion to a Scriptural verse of teaching . . . Formally, redactionally, and linguistically the Mishnah stands in splendid isolation from Scripture. . . the Mishnah constitutes torah.” The Mishnah: A New Translation (New Haven, CT: Yale University Press, 1988) pp. xxxv and xxxvi
Rabbi Neusner is stating that the Mishnah (a part of the Talmud) constitutes (their) “torah” – their “holiest book.”
“Since some of the named authorities in the chain of tradition appear throughout the materials of the Mishnah, the claim is that what these people say comes to them from Sinai through the process of Kabbalah and Massoret – handing down, ‘traditioning.’ So the reason. . . that the Mishnah does not cite Scripture is that it does not have to.” Ibid.
The authority of the Mishnah is derived from the authority of the rabbi, because whatever the rabbi declares to be from Sinai is from Sinai, because the rabbi is Sinai incarnate.” Hoffman, Michael A. II, Judaism’s Strange Gods, pp 37,38.
References to the Torah in Judaism are invariably misleading. By dictionary definition, Torah denotes the books of the Old Testament (Tanakh). But in Judaism, the word Torah can signify the Talmud alone or both the Talmud and the Tanakh.
The Talmud is the holiest book of Judaism

The Mark of the Beast

Those who support the Beast power – Jewish Zionism/Talmudism – or those who develop a character like them, the character of immorality that Jesus rebuked, the behavior that is now taking over our culture, will have “taken” the “Mark” (from the Greek word – meaning character) of the Beast!

Jesus said, “Love your enemies.” Israel, the Jews, and their apostate “Christian” supporters, the evangelical “Christians” say, “KILL your enemies” and we will support you with our churches and our finances.
That is exactly what Pastor John Hagee is doing with his multitude of Evangelical “Christians” that he recently took to Washington D.C. to lobby the Senators and Congressman to encourage the invasion of Iran – the supposed enemy of Israel.
In Conclusion:
1.The religion of the Israelites was Christianity. They looked forward to Jesus Christ, the Messiah. Eventually, AFTER Christ’s death, resurrection, and ascension to heaven, the true Christianity was corrupted by the Pharisees and the Sadducees by bringing in the “oral traditions of the Elders.” These were later compiled in written form as the Mishnah, the first portion of the Talmud, and the Gemara, a commentary on the Mishnah.
2. The Talmud is the “holiest” book of Judaism and essentially nullifies the Word of God. Judaism is an occult religion that essentially ignores the Old Testament.
3. Judaism did not even exist before Christ. Over a hundred years AFTER Christ was crucified, resurrected and taken to heaven, Judaism become a new (and occult) religion. And it was diabolically opposed to Christianity.
4. Jesus was/is NOT a “Jew.” Jesus was a child of the “Spirit” or, more accurately, the breath of holiness (constantly mistranslated as “Holy Spirit”).
5. The children of Abraham are the true followers of Christ – NOT the Jews!
6. The “New” religion in town is “Judeo-Churchianity” (a term coined by author Michael Hoffman II) – a Judaized “Christianity” that will lead (force!) the whole world to worship the terrible and ferocious Beast of Revelation 13 – the Zionist Jews and Judaism – whose goal is to destroy ALL governments and ALL religions, including Christianity!
