High Priest is Chosen by Sanhedrin, Temple Service Could Be One Week Away

A significant step was recently taken towards reinstating the Temple service when the nascent Sanhedrin selected Rabbi Baruch Kahane as the next Kohen Gadol (high priest). The selection was made as a precaution for Yom Kippur. If the political conditions should change, allowing the Jews access to the Temple Mount, they will be required by Torah law to bring the sacrifices. Rabbi Kahane is confident that if that should happen, Temple service could begin in less than one week.
Rabbi Kahane is a prominent scholar, knowledgeable in the complicated laws pertaining to the subject of the Temple Service. He is part of the Halacha Berurah Institute, established by Rabbi Avraham Isaac HaCohen Kook, the first Chief Rabbi of Israel, which deals with the elucidation of Jewish law from its Talmudic sources (Oral Law) and commentaries. He has played a prominent role in all the reenactments of the Temple services performed to date.

This year has already seen much Temple-oriented activity: the Temple Institute has created a registry of kohanim; established a school for educating men of the priestly class in the details of the Temple service; and performed reenactments on all the holidays, including the especially significant Passover sacrifice.
Rabbi Hillel Weiss, spokesman for the nascent Sanhedrin, explained to Breaking Israel News the necessity for choosing a High Priest, even in the absence of a Temple.
“We do not need a miraculous occurrence like the sudden appearance of a Temple descending from heaven onto the Temple Mount to make this decision relevant,” explained Rabbi Weiss. “The only obstacle preventing the Temple service today is the political issue. If that should suddenly change, as it very well could, we would be required to begin the Temple service immediately. It is therefore necessary that we have a candidate prepared to fill the role of the High Priest, especially now that we have kohanimn prepared to serve in the Temple.”
Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, founder and and head of the Temple Institute, is a member of the Sanhedrin but did not rule in this decision. He told Breaking Israel News that it was necessary for the Sanhedrin to choose a Kohen Gadol.
“This is certainly something we should do now as religious Jews. Choosing a high priest and all of the preparations for the Temple Service are mitzvot (commandments) that are incumbent upon us according to the Torah,” said Rabbi Ariel.
“It is not a matter of opinion. It is written explicitly in the Torah and, just like any of the other mitzvot written in the Torah, we have to choose a Kohen Gadol, and make all the preparations, regardless of whether there is a Temple standing right now.”
When asked how long it would take to begin sacrifices if it suddenly became permissible, he considered carefully before answering. “If the government decided to permit it, it would only take a few weeks to make preparations, even to do the Yom Kippur service,” he said.
“The structures can be temporary and prepared almost overnight. The biggest obstacle is educating the kohanim, which we are taking care of already. Once the priests are thoroughly educated, choosing a Kohen Gadol and teaching him what he needs to know for the Yom Kippur service is relatively simple and will take one week. The Temple Service performed by the Kohen Gadol is very demanding, but for an educated kohen, it is not overly difficult to learn to serve as the Kohen Gadol.”

The ceremonial of consecration, extending through an entire week (Exodus 28–29; Leviticus 8), included certain rites which all priests were required to undergo: purification; the sacrifices; the “filling” of the hands; the smearing with blood. But Aaron the high priest was anointed with sacred oil, hence the title of the “anointed priest”; other passages have it that all priests were anointed (Exodus 28:41, 30:30; Leviticus 7:36, 10:7; Numbers 3:3).
The first consecration was performed by Moses; the Bible does not state who consecrated subsequent high priests. Leviticus 21:10 states emphatically that every new high priest shall be anointed; and Exodus 29:29 et seq. commands that the official garments worn by his predecessor shall be worn by the new incumbent while he is anointed and during the seven days of his consecration.
Connection with Sanhedrin
The high priest was the presiding officer of the Sanhedrin. This view conflicts with the later Jewish tradition according to which the Pharisee tannaim (the Zugot) at the head of the yeshivot presided over the great Sanhedrin also (Ḥag. ii. 2). However, a careful reading of the sources (“Ant.” xx. 10; “Contra Ap.” ii., § 23; comp. “Ant.” iv. 8, § 14; xiv. 9, §§ 3–5 [Hyrcanus II. as president]; xx. 9, § 1 [Ananus]), as well as the fact that in the post-Maccabean period the high priest was looked upon as exercising in all things, political, legal, and sacerdotal, the supreme authority, shows it to be almost certain that the presidency of the Sanhedrin was vested in the high priest (see Isidore Loeb in “R. E. J.” 1889, xix. 188–201; Jelski, “Die Innere Einrichtung des Grossen Synhedrions”, pp. 22–28, according to whom the Nasi was the high priest, while the Av Beth Din was a Pharisaic tanna).
Rabbi Weiss explained the importanc of advancing Temple initiatives even when it seems that reinstituting the Temple service is not a matter of urgency.

It was noted that these institutions were previously marginalized but, nowadays, enjoy a political presence.

They further stated that the total time needed to accomplish the building is three years, according to their plans.

A new interfaith and spiritual gathering of Christians, Jews and Muslims will take place in Jerusalem this September.
“Amen-A House of Prayer For All Believers”, part of the 2016 Mekudeshet Festival from September 4-23, is an initiative created by the Jerusalem Season of Culture, an annual festival in Jerusalem, to bring together the world’s three major faiths “who share a belief in one God and a boundless love for Jerusalem to dialogue, study, sing and pray together in one temporary house of worship,” said a press release.

Doing further search I learned that FEMA is headquartered nearby…coincidence?
The next day 8-19-2016 the website of Sanhedrin was restored. I decided to do another whois search to see if it was the same registration, it was not, so someone attempted to hijack the site of Sanhedrin. But what I learned was extremely important.
From 2000 to 2003, I had done extensive research on the Noahide Laws, the Jerusalem Council and the Book of Acts, specifically Chapter 15. Throughout Acts through Galatians, Paul the Apostle of Jesus Christ refused to teach the laws of the Judaizers who Sanhedrin infiltrated in the Jerusalem Council, but stood fast on Salvation by Grace of God through Jesus Christ. Trump Vows to Enforce anti-Christ Noahide Laws HJR 104, PL 102-14
Potential immigrants to America would be screened for anti-Semitic sentiments as part of an “extreme vetting” process under a Donald Trump administration, said the GOP presidential nominee at a speech on Monday. He also said that Israel would be a key ally in fighting radical Islam if he were elected.
Of the rigorous vetting process he hopes to impose, “We should only admit into this country those who share our (Noahide Jewish) values and respect our people,” said Trump in a policy address in Youngstown, Ohio.
He suggested a return to the more rigorous policies of Cold War days, in which people were examined for communist sympathies or ties to the Soviet Union. “In the Cold War, we had an ideological screening test. The time is long overdue to develop a new screening test for the threats we face today. I call it extreme vetting. I call it extreme, extreme vetting,” he proposed.
He said that the process would include an “ideological screening test” which would isolate not only people with radical Islamist beliefs, but anyone holding beliefs “hostile” to American society and culture, including anti-Semites.
He pointed to France as a cautionary tale in this respect and mentioned anti-Semitism specifically as a potential immigration danger.
Trump’s strong immigration policies, which include banning all Muslims from entering the US and halting immigration from volatile parts of the globe, have been the subject of much criticism and controversy during his campaign.
Some responded to his latest suggestion by arguing that many of the refugees coming from war-torn regions face the same terror and intolerance that Trump wants to keep out.
“Suspending immigration would only trap those who need refuge most,” said the American Defamation League in a statement.
In the same speech, Trump once more called Israel America’s “greatest ally”, saying that the two countries would work together to battle the spread of radical Islam and terror, a fight in which Israel is already deeply engaged.
“We will work side by side with our friends in the Middle East, including our greatest ally, Israel,” he told the crowd.
